Convenience Check

A convenience check is a check that is not linked to the client’s credit line, and can be used exactly like normal checks that are linked to the client’s checking account. Convenience checks can be written in any amount, provided that the consumer does not surpass the his or her credit limit. They are treated like a cash advance, meaning there is no grace period and interest is charged from the moment the check is used. They also tend to have higher interest rates than that charged for purchases.
